Polyurethane materials used for cold storage insulation include white materials and black materials. The foaming process is basically the same, and the foam produced is also very similar in appearance. However, the different white materials used will greatly cause the performance difference of the products, and even the use of some inferior white materials will not reflect the insulation effect.
1、 Thermal insulation performance of cold storage insulation materials:
The first requirement for polyurethane insulation materials used in cold storage is insulation performance, and the quality of insulation performance cannot be observed with the naked eye before it is actually put into use. By the time the difference in power consumption is observed, it is already too late. The company strictly controls the selection of materials through extensive experimental testing in order to achieve this goal:
1. Using structural amine ether to reduce thermal conductivity and improve insulation effect;
2. Try to reduce the moisture content as much as possible in various raw materials and formulas to avoid deterioration of insulation performance caused by water foaming;
3. Main material polyether: the products of large factories that have undergone strict post-treatment (such as Jinling Petrochemical Company) are selected. Compared with polyether that has not undergone post-treatment in small factories, its foam cell is more uniform, its cell wall is thinner, and its thermal insulation performance is significantly better than that of ordinary foam with thick wall and large pores;
4. The use of efficient odorless amine catalyst can effectively adjust the balance of foaming gel reaction, so that the skin between spraying layers is thinner, which is conducive to the performance of cold storage insulation materials;
5. Do not use regular polyester polyols. These control measures have achieved quite good results. Compared with several cold storages at a customer's location in Changzhou, the cold storages using their white materials have significantly lower power consumption than those using white materials from other manufacturers.
2、 Dimensional stability of polyurethane insulation foam:
The polyurethane foam material of the cold storage will have a size change (generally shrinkage) when the temperature changes violently or stays at a low temperature for a long time. The size change is often reflected in the cracking or falling off of the foam, which will inevitably affect the normal use of the cold storage. In addition to regularly conducting simulated performance tests, more emphasis is placed on controlling the selection of high-quality materials:
3、 Polyurethane cold storage insulation material foam service life:
In addition to the basic performance of polyurethane foam at the initial stage, the performance degradation of foam is also an important indicator. During white material preparation, some polyester materials make foam have good toughness and impact resistance on the surface, but it will become brittle after being used in cold storage for a period of time, and will no longer be resistant to impact and collision.
In addition, the poor hydrolysis resistance of some polyester structure foam will also affect the service life of foam; It adopts a polyether structure, which may be slightly brittle at the beginning but generally disappears after a few days, and then maintains the stable performance of the cold storage insulation material for a long time.
4、 Suggestions on the quantity of polyurethane cold storage insulation materials:
Cold storage investment is a long-term and profitable investment. While a high number of suppliers can reduce initial investment, it is necessary to balance long-term energy consumption with initial investment. This is because the insulation effect of polyurethane cold storage insulation materials is linearly related to their bulk density; A large number of studies have shown that foam has good thermal insulation performance when its unit weight is 36~40kg/m3, so it is generally recommended that the number of cubic meters of constant temperature cold storage should be 22~23m3/t.
